The Project:

The Client:

  • Project SUCCEED (Supporting Colorado Children's Early Emotional Development) is a group of scholars, researchers, and external partners associated with the JFK Partners within the University of Colorado School of Medicine Pediatrics Department that conducts training on addressing the unmet mental health needs of children. The group observed a decline in registration and attendance at their in-person trainings, marked by an increase in no-shows and a shortage of available participants. They decided to transform their training into asynchronous, self-paced modules for wider accessibility and reach among participants.

The Problem:

  • The project required a tight deadline with collaboration among four core contributors and their various external partners. Key challenges included navigating shifting priorities with the SME-created content, inconsistent stakeholder feedback, maintaining a unified learner-centered voice across diverse contributors, and addressing missed deadlines from key SMEs.

The Solution:

  •  I organized the project into review cycles, developed a consistent formatting and style guide for each module, managed stakeholder feedback, and embedded video content. I utilized soft skills to manage up and maintain our timeline effectively, even when SMEs held stronger authority and divergent views.

  • When working with the high editorial expectations from the SMEs, I responded by transparently communicating project constraints, reframing feedback to prioritize learner clarity over stylistic preference, and maintaining respectful boundaries to keep the project on track.

My Role:

I led the instructional design and project management. Key contributions included:

  • Built and edited all eight PowerPoint training modules in Rise360.

  • Developed internal workflows for video embedding, feedback collection, and review processes.

  • Maintained timeline availability through structured communication and clear deadlines.

  • Used soft skills and tone curation to keep collaborators aligned and motivated.

  • Coordinated final file delivery and client handoff at project close.
